Traditional ALICE frames are great for our friends between 5'6" and 5'10". Beyond that, especially those of us taller or with long backs, we have to deal with wearing a hipbelt at our navels 2-4 inches above the crest of our hips.
I got the exo-spine in the ALICE+TALL configuration, the gravity dock, and the adaptive yoke. Amazing difference in feel and mobility when compared to the hundreds of dollars in different frames and failed experiments with mounting alice packs to game freighter frames, filbe frames, or switching to european surplus bags made for even smaller men.
This is a fantastic product for my needs, which I'll admit are pretty niche as I find the 60-year old layout of the alice pack is ideal but the frame is not for my long back.
The added benefit of being able to ditch the backpack but still have immediate access to all the sustainment and defensive equipment on my padded belt is just amazing. I can now ruck to camp, remove the backpack, and without fishing out a daypack, slingbag, or belt rig from my kit - I'm ready to move as soon as my pack hits the ground.
Amazingly well thought out kit.
